Hawker Sealed Batteries from EnerSys achieve a lower cost of ownership through the following benefits:

  • Simplified Maintenance - Depending upon the application can remain "maintenance free" for up to 5 years.

  • Ease of Operation - The design of the battery does not require thermal sensing for safe operation.B777.jpg (19663 bytes)

  • Reduced Facilities - The need for special battery rooms is eliminated. Batteries can be serviced in general workshop areas and Nickel Cadmium Test rooms.

  • Easy Commissioning - Batteries are supplied fully charged and tested and may be stored for up to 2 years and be ready for use.  Commissioning normally consists of only a voltage check, which may, after prolonged storage, indicate the need for a short boost charge.  No discharge testing or cycling is normally required.

  • Safety - The Hawker Energy Battery is sealed and has no free electrolyte which could escape and cause corrosion, even in the event of damage to the battery case.  Being sealed also means that no venting or harmful fumes can be released into the aircraft or storage areas under normal charging conditions.

  • Minimized Spares Cost - Reduced maintenance, immediate commissioning and ease of transportation all add up to minimum spares holding for operators with minimum risk of AOG.

  • Unrestricted Transportation - All Hawker batteries are approved for world wide transportation without restriction in a fully charged and ready for immediate use condition.  DOT approved as a dry cell, nonspillable battery.  They can be shipped overnight worldwide via UPS.

  • Charge Retention - Exceeds any other secondary rechargeable Lead Acid or Nickel Cadmium battery system.

  • Performance - Does not suffer from fading after frequent engine starts or short flights, unlike other Lead Acid and Nickel Cadmium systems.

  • Efficient - Our battery's recombination efficiency, using a non return valve for safety, operates under negative pressure for most of it's operating life
